The Volunteer Center of Lubbock’s 2010 Emerging Leaders Program

During ILR associates’ recent participation in the Emerging Leaders Program, they learned valuable leadership development tools, as well as the knowledge and resources needed for increased community involvement. They explored topics such as serving on a board, incorporating volunteerism in the workplace, and personal leadership styles.

The Institute for Leadership Research is committed to providing leadership development and learning opportunities to our students, colleagues, and community. Many of these opportunities are provided via our presence at TTU and Chamber of Commerce expos

Health.edu

Health.edu is a department within the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and is a program that produces web-based continuing education for healthcare professionals in 16 disciplines. Health.edu courses play a vital role in helping professionals maintain their licensure, and in giving them quality education on a wide variety of topics. The ILR partners with Health.edu by contributing our leadership expertise to their web-based video programming.

Lubbock Independent School District

About 500 Lubbock Independent School District administrators and select teachers participate in a 2010 Summer Leadership Institute. Focusing on developing leadership skills, world renowned educational leaders and speakers are invited to present their knowledge and research. As a renowned member of the professional learning community, ILR Director William Gardner was invited to present an authentic leadership breakout session seminar to attendees.

The Forum for Leadership Excellence

Spearheaded by Dr. Claudia Cogliser, the Forum for Leadership Excellence (FLE) provides academically ambitious undergraduate students within the Rawls College of Business an opportunity to develop leadership skills with a special emphasis on the development of leaders from diverse backgrounds. Although the FLE is an innovative program created for outstanding and academically ambitious Rawls College of Business undergraduate students, it is open to all business undergraduates who meet a set of academic criteria.
